Craziness
So, probably like the rest of you crazy crafters, I have been super busy with holiday crafting. So it's been a little quiet here on The Craft Junky blog. But there us been plenty of sewing and knitting going on. I tried not to completely stress myself out with my list of handmade items but I wasn't really successful with that, heh. I plan on posting pictures of all of the goods as soon as they are opened so you guys can see what I have been up to. But for now, I hope that you all have a Happy and Safe Holiday!!!!
....And may the force be with you. :)

I won a contest!!!
So, last month I saw that Sew Mama Sew, Cathy Gaubert, and Lark were putting on a contest. I went back and forth on whether I should enter something or not. I didn't really think that anything I made was really up to par with some of the other quilts that were being entered. But ultimately, I decided to enter this quilt that I made for Jeni for our Harry Potter Swap a while ago.
Well, the winners were announced last week and I won third place!!!!! I was/am so excited and shocked. Thanks so much Cathy and Sew Mama Sew and Lark!!!!

It is has been so crazy around here for the last month! I have a lot to tell so I am going to do a quick recap. Let's see... First there was a birthday.
I got my Post Sewing Summit Swap gift out to my partner.

I taught my oldest little lady how to knit...
and to sew.
I sewed up a bunch of ukulele straps for a local guitar shop.
I found out that I am getting older.
And I decided to change things up a bit.
Of course there was Thanksgiving thrown in there somewhere and putting up a christmas tree. I think I am all caught up with you now except for maybe a couple of things. But I plan on putting those in tomorrow's post. Have a Happy Friday!

Huge Friggin Sale!
I have a bunch of stuff left over from the craft show, so I thought I would put it in the shop for kind of a Not Black Friday Sale this week. I even marked down the stuff that was already in the shop, like my R2-D2 quilt!
I have been so busy these last few weeks. Getting ready for the craft show, and then there was a birthday (pictures coming soon!) and a visit from my grandparents. SO much stuff! But I am getting caught up now. YAY!!
I will run the sale through Saturday, I'm thinking.

Sewing Summit
So I have been writing and re-writing this blog post in my head for weeks. There is just SO much to say and tell about it, I know that i will miss something. I spent SO much time preparing for it, I can't believe it's over.
A truly amazing experience. I got to meet SO many incredible people that I have been friends with for a while, that thought I would never get to meet in person. As well as made some awesome new friends!
I shared a room with Jeni of In Color Order and we just happened to be flying with the same airline and were able to get on the same connecting flight. So we got to meet up in Denver for the layover before flying out to SLC.
After we checked in to the hotel, we immediately left to do some anxiety relief fabric shopping at some of the local SLC shops. It was so awesome to be able to shop without having to do a head count of my kids every 10 minutes.
There was a lot of late nights hanging out with friends.
And there was a fair amount of silliness, also. I don't think I went to bed before 2:30 am when I was there!
Blazing Needles knitting shop was so awesome! And the owner was so sweet to us!
We went out to lunch and got some awesome frozen yogurt, which I didn't participate in, but it was fun tot take pictures and just enjoy the good company.
Saying good-bye in Sunday was bittersweet because I missed my family so much and was ready to go home, but I didn't want to leave my sewing companions behind either. It was so great to be able to hang out together, and shop together, and knit together. And it was relieving to finally meet everyone and realize that they are just as awesome in person as I thought they would be.

I am so happy that I the chance to do this. And words can't even come close to expressing the amazing experience that it was.
I will leave you with a picture of all the goodies that I bought and swag that was given to us!! After busting the zipper on my duffel bag trying to fit it all in I ended up having to get a priority box and ship it all home.

Sewing
I have been working on sewing some things up for a craft show at my grandmother's church in a couple of weeks. My grandparents will be driving up to visit me from Florida next Monday and they will be taking my goodies back with them to sell for me. Basically, when I do these crafty-type shows, I try to make things that would make good gifts, are not so expensive that people will be scared away from my table, but are also still cute. I find things for children go over REALLY well. So I make zipper pouches, and some small tote bags for little girls or they could be used for lunch totes, maybe some quick type wallets. But one thing that I sell out of every time is coloring wallets. This pattern by JChandmade is so awesome. I always get requests for more boyish things at my table so this year I made half girly and half boyish type fabrics.
I also decided to make some pocket tissue packs. This pattern is also from JChandmade. I figured that they were cute, and portable, and what kid doesn't have a runny nose in the cooler seasons? They were so simple to make. I don't know why I never made them before. I think I may have gone overboard though. I made 37 of them, heh.
SO, tomorrow and the rest of the week I will be working on some more craft show goodies. But in a couple of days I will be back with my Sewing Summit post!!!! I have SO many pictures I want to share.

Conformed
I've done it!!! I have taken the leap and started a blog. I have been on the fence about this for a while now. Not knowing if I actually had something worth while to write about that people would want to read. But after attending Sewing Summit a week and a half ago, and some support from good friends, I have decided to take the plunge. So here I am, self proclaimed geek and craft junky, writing my first blog post.
