Hey Hey friends! Welcome to my stop for the microMod sew-along. I knew right away that I wanted to make something wearable, because let's face it, this fabric is way too awesome not to show off.
But before we get into the nitty gritty details of my project, let's find out some from trivia from the microMod duo ala Craft Junky style!
Question: If your spouse could be a super hero, what would their super power be and why?
Alexia says: Rob's super power would be to be able to project movies with his mind! He loves movies and is especially good at remembering details and inspirations from films he has seen!
Rob says: Alexia's super power would be the power to grow additional limbs! She is always working on so many creative projects, and those extra limbs would be well used.
Seems like they know each other pretty well!
So for my project I decided to use Karyn's Enchanted Bow Skirt tutorial to make this fantastic skirt.
I decided not to make the bow since I knew that would probably be wearing it with my geeky t-shirts and converse.
This print is called Vertigo and I think that it lends itself well to garment sewing as well as the hand of the Cloud9 fabric. It is so soft and has such a nice drape, I want to make several more wearables out of it. I paired the microMod with a simple gray hued shot cotton at the hem just to add a touch of contrast.
SO now, on to the SEW ALONG!!!!!
Sew along with us by tagging your projects on Instagram with #microMod , or posting on the Green Bee Patterns Facebook page, Don't forget to add photos of your projects to the microMod flickr group so we can all see your amazing microMod projects! You can see all of the stops on the sew along by checking Aleixa's blog or on the Cloud9 Facebook page.

HAPPY FRIDAY!
I would like to fly. That way I wouldn't have to sit in traffic everyday and save so more much time in my day to put towards crafting.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could read minds. We always assume people are judging us and behave accordingly on assumption. Would be great to know when I'm assuming the wrong thing. Way good for confidence.
ReplyDeleteI would want to teleport. My family live over 2 hours drive away and I have poor health. Travel causes me a lot of pain so to teleport would mean I could spend time with my family where I'm not doubled up with pain or doped up to the eyeballs with pain meds.
ReplyDeleteTeleportation. Because that way I wouldn't have to deal with airlines anymore.
ReplyDeleteYou won!!!!! I redrew and you got it!!
DeleteTotally exciting! I would love to bi-locate! being two places at once would allow me to sew all day AAAND stil do my day job. :)
ReplyDeleteI would want to be able to teleport! We have moved a long way from family and I would love to just pop in and see them whenever I wanted. Your skirt looks great - thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteLook at everyone that has the same idea as me already - teleportation! My grandbabies live an hour away (or two and one-half hours when I get caught in a snowstorm) and I'd love to see them more often.
ReplyDeleteimagine it; it's done ... travel like that too, want to go to kailua-kona, hi and, zoot ... you're there ... that would be my super power ... oh, yea, never having to come home, having all the money, things you need ... that would sooo work for me .... darlene
ReplyDeleteYou won!!! but you didn't leave a way for me to email you!
DeleteYou are super cute in your new skirt, first of all. My superpower would be getting to any place in the world without traveling there... like, just snap my fingers, and I'm there. :)
ReplyDeleteThe ability to teleport here as well! My kids and grandkids are 11 hrs away...oh it would be so nice:)
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt - the fabrics go so well with the shot cotton too! If I had a superpower, I would like it to be one where I could read my family's minds as to what they would like me to cook for dinner - they never seem to be able to come up with a unified answer so it is tricky to cook something that pleases everyone in the household.
ReplyDeleteI would like to be able to slow down time so I could get more done.
ReplyDeleteAdorable skirt! You wear it well! For a superpower, I would love to be able to move super fast, so I could finish all of the sewing projects I've started!
ReplyDeleteI would want to be like Samantha in Bewitched--wiggle my nose and poof!
ReplyDeleteI want to control time with my super power...make the time last longer if I am sewing or spending my time with my husband, and make things speed up like driving in traffic or getting through a boring meeting at work. Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteSuperpower- probably an easier going personality. My children think I have eyes in the back of my head already! Cute skirt. Thanks for participating in the hop.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to fly or teleport!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to twitch my nose, snap my fingers, or teleport anywhere I want to go! Thanks for the chance to win some great fabric, and your skirt is way cool!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute skirt! I would love the super power of morphing into whatever body shape, size and height that I would want. I could tell you it would be about fighting crime, but it would mostly be about what I felt like wearing on any given day. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love an extra hand or two. But only when I needed them. Otherwise I am sure they would get in the way sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt! I would love to be able to be in two places at the same time or at least move so quickly it's like I'm in two places at once!
ReplyDeleteI would love the superpower of being able to learn a new language without any effort! It would make my current life so much easier! Thanks for the lovely giveaway and great sewing inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCan I be like Superman and have multiple superpowers? If I had to pick just one it would be the power to heal people with just a touch.
ReplyDeleteI do think teleporting would be pretty cool! So would the power to heal.

I love this fabric!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be able to fly - what a wonderful feeling that would be!
Clean up power, point, twitch and done. Great. Thanks.
ReplyDeletecute kicky skirt!
ReplyDeletei'd want to be the cat whisperer and get all the neighborhood cats to let me hug them.
love this line! the power of teleport would cut down severely on travel expenses. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be invisible. Then no one could find me and i could sew to my little heart's content! babscorbitt@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be invisible at will and go around and help others if I could!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!

Sweet skirt! My super power would be energy! I could perk up everyone's energy to get those UFO's finished.:) Thanks for sharing...Judith, Texas
ReplyDeleteMy super power of choice would be the ability to fly. Thanks for a great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to have the ability to see where lost stuff is. Would save soooo much grief! ;)
ReplyDeleteX ray vision would be cool. That way I could always win at cards-haha! I love your skirt-really cute.
ReplyDeleteI would fly because I love the feeling of the wind blowing over me.
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is awesome! I'm always on the lookout for skirts that will look good paired with combat boots.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know the giveaway deadline passed a couple days ago, but I wanted to answer anyway. I'd definitely want instant healing as my superpower (a la Claire from Heroes). No more neck pain!
I would like to transport... I could go between VA and MI and see family.
